Final Thoughts and Video

In week 11 with the deadline getting closer, we found out from our classmates that Jack Noble had dropped out of our group. This left us with one week to get the hand and animation complete, but we approached Claire Tyler for an extension. Unfortunately throughout the project Jack was very difficult to contact and did not show any work for the group, this meant we had to make up for the third group member which was a very big task. We both came together and completed different parts to get the project complete and this is the final result.

Week 16 – Meeting 11

We have completed the animation and all elements surrounding the guildhall.

Animation Plan

The plan for the animation is to split it between the two of us. With both of us able to use the path constraint we can do some walk through clips. Stephen is going to try slicing the building for a scene using the slice modifier and Martyn is going to animate the hand to open doors.

Week 15 – Meeting 10

Discussion of meeting:
Martyn has completed the hand ready for animation. And Stephen has added the walkway to the side of the building. The only thing left to do for the guildhall is to add the materials so this week will see the completion of the guildhall. Before we animate this week Stephen is going to add some surroundings like the church and pub. Martyn is going to make the general things for the guild hall like benches and light shades. Then we will both partake in animating the project.

Stephen – Add surrounding and animate
Martyn – Add last furnishings to guildhall and animate

Week 14 – Meeting 9

Discussion of meeting:
With us both contributing a lot to the project each week, we are nearing the end of making the guildhall. The interior has been completed by Martyn. And with the stairs in the guildhall it has the structure complete. The glass walkway is what Stephen is going to do this week and then it is down the adding the materials which will finish the guildhall. Martyn is going to continue making the hand so it is ready to complete the animation in time.

Plan of action:
Stephen: Add the glass walkway to the side of the guildhall
Martyn: Continue making the hand to animate

Week 13 – Meeting 8

Discussion of meeting:
With only a few elements left in the building to complete it feels like we are getting close to the animating stage. Martyn has made a start on the hand but with many new techniques it is quite time consuming. The stairs are the next part of the building that Stephen will make. Complete the hand and structure for the guildhall.

Week 12 – Meeting 7

Martyn has completed adding the materials to the objects that will be in the interior. And with the roof on the guildhall it is really taking shape, with only a few elements left in the building to complete it feels like we are getting close to the animating stage. Stephen is going to add the doors and windows to the guildhall.
